McGarry Policeman Pewter Miniature figurine from the classic children's television series of Camberwick Green, faithfully recreated by Robert Harrop Designs, manufacturers of quality figurines for over 25 years. Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley were devised by Gordon Murray some forty years ago, here is how it started... Gordon Murray was walking round and round the local park, desperately trying to squeeze out ideas for a new children's television series. He had quickly rejected an idea of a cosy little family of bears with just one circuit of the park! Then...Eureka! He would make a musical spectacular, with lots of characters and no star parts! The star would be the location - a rural village - and everyone would be nice, and kind, and helpful, and happy. And so was born a classic of children's television; Camberwick Green! First broadcast in 1966, Camberwick Green was soon followed by Trumpton and Chigley. The delightful narration by Brian Cant and enchanting music by Freddie Phillips, meant that Gordon Murray's Trumtponshire world is still fondly remembered by many and is still shown to children today, a true children's TV classic! Each figurine has been meticulously produced and comes with the patronage of Robert Harrop Designs' 25 years of heritage and experience in figurine design and manufacture.heart
helpDeep in the depths of Middle England lies the sleepy village of Moreton-in-the-Mulch. A centuries old picturesque settlement, nestled between hill and dale, river and stream and, of course, lying on the borders of the famous Mulch. Picture a summers afternoon, the sound of leather against willow, hear a smatter of applause and laughter accompanied by the chinking of glass at the pub on the green, this is Moreton-in-the-Mulch. Travelling away from the village green you'll find the main village, the butchers, the post office, police station, a vets, the school, the dairy and, of course, the church. Overlooking all this is the imposing Moreton Hall with well groomed estate and vineyard. Looking out from the village up to the pleasant rolling hills you can see clusters of buildings which house the farmers and their livestock. Today the village is quiet, most of the people have been to church and are now enjoying their sunday chores - either cooking the sunday joint or gossiping in the Village pub. All English villages have their secrets and within Moreton-in-the-Mulch there are plenty of secrets, mystery and intrigue. PSP-004 - Sergeant Archie MacDougal - Policeman Figurine Archie's a scot through and through. He and his wife Maggie came to the Village seven years ago to take up Archie's post as the village Bobbie. He was given this idyllic post as a reward for outstanding police work or so he says. His Poirot style investigations for the most petty of crimes are a great source of gossip and amusement within the community. Potting Shed Pals are a unique range of collectable village characters.
